Configuring allowed IPs for voice calls
Allow a public source IP address to place outbound voice calls using your cloudnumbering account.
The portal accepts public IPv4 addresses. If your voice system uses network address translation (NAT) or a proxy, add the public address from which its traffic reaches cloudnumbering, not its private network address.
Allow an IP address
- Sign in to the cloudnumbering portal.
- Go to Account Settings > Your IPs.
- Under Allow IP, enter the public IPv4 address.
- Select Add.
- Check that the address appears in the IP list.
Delete an allowed IP address
Warning: After you delete an address, voice traffic from that address can no longer place calls using your account.
- Go to Account Settings > Your IPs.
- Find the address in the IP list.
- Open its row actions and select Delete.
- Review the warning, then select Delete IP.
- Check that the address no longer appears in the list.
Troubleshooting
The portal rejects the address. Enter one public IPv4 address without a port or CIDR prefix. The portal does not accept IPv6, loopback addresses such as 127.0.0.1, or private addresses in the 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, and 192.168.0.0/16 ranges.
Outbound calls still fail. Confirm the public source address seen on the internet. NAT, a firewall, or a proxy can make it different from the address configured on your voice system. Also check that the address appears under Your IPs.
You allowed the wrong address. Delete it, then add the correct public IPv4 address. Do not leave unused addresses on the allowlist.
