Setting up low-balance alerts
Low-balance alerts send a daily email while your cloudnumbering balance is below the threshold you choose. Alerts never charge a card — to add funds automatically, see Setting up automatic card top-ups.
Before you start
Alerts run only for active, prepaid organisations.
Note: Low-balance alerts are not enabled for every organisation. If you do not see Low-balance alerts in Notification Settings, the feature is not currently available for your account.
Turn on low-balance alerts
- Sign in to the cloudnumbering portal.
- Go to Account Settings > Notification Settings.
- Turn on Low-balance alerts.
- Enter the balance threshold in Email me when my balance is below.
- The threshold must be above £0. Save balance alerts stays disabled until you enter an amount.
- Check who alerts go to under Send to.
- Your organisation's billing email is always included and is marked Billing email.
- To also receive alerts at your own address, select Also send alerts to my user account.
- To stop an extra recipient receiving alerts, select Remove [email address] on their address.
- Select Save balance alerts.
Change or stop alerts
To change the alert level or the recipients, return to Notification Settings, update the values, and select Save balance alerts.
To stop low-balance alerts, turn off Low-balance alerts and select Save balance alerts.
What happens next
cloudnumbering checks your balance once a day. While it is below your threshold, it sends at most one alert a day to the addresses shown under Send to.
Tip: Top up before your balance reaches zero to avoid service disruption. See Topping up your balance.
Troubleshooting
I cannot see Low-balance alerts.
The feature is not enabled for every organisation yet. Check Account Settings > Notification Settings, and if the section is not there, contact support and ask whether low-balance alerts are available for your account.
I did not receive an alert.
Check that Low-balance alerts is turned on, that Email me when my balance is below is above your current balance, and that your address is listed under Send to. Alerts are sent only while your organisation is active and on prepaid billing.
The alert is going to the wrong person.
Edit the recipients under Send to: select Remove [email address] on any extra address that should not receive alerts, and select or clear Also send alerts to my user account. Then select Save balance alerts. The billing email cannot be removed here — to change it, an organisation administrator updates Billing Email Address in Account Settings > Billing Settings.
I need alerts to trigger immediately.
Alerts are sent once a day, not in real time when your balance crosses the threshold.
