Route calls to your cloudnumbering numbers into a SIP PBX or switch.
Before you start
You need an in-service cloudnumbering number and a SIP destination that can receive calls from the public internet.
Set up inbound calling
- Create a voice endpoint for your SIP destination.
- Go to Number Management > Number Inventory.
- Select the number that should receive calls.
- Choose the endpoint under Primary Voice Endpoint.
- Turn on Enabled for voice.
- To add a fallback route, choose a Secondary Voice Endpoint.
- Select Save.
- Call the cloudnumbering number and confirm that your PBX receives the SIP INVITE request.
What happens next
cloudnumbering replaces any number placeholder in the endpoint URI and routes the call to the resulting SIP destination.
Troubleshooting
No call reaches my PBX
Open Number Management > Number Inventory. Confirm that the number is in service and has the expected Primary Voice Endpoint with Enabled turned on. A number with no primary voice endpoint rejects inbound calls with SIP response 404, even when a secondary endpoint is set — a secondary endpoint alone does not receive calls. Then check that your SIP destination is publicly reachable and accepts the URI saved in the portal.
The called number is formatted incorrectly
Update the endpoint's Hostname with the format your PBX expects. See Formatting numbers in SIP endpoints.
The call reaches my PBX but has no audio
Check your PBX and firewall media handling, then confirm that both sides can negotiate a common codec. See Understanding voice codecs.
