Send outbound calls from your SIP platform through cloudnumbering.
Before you start
You need a cloudnumbering number for caller ID and the public source IPv4 address used by your SIP platform.
Allow your source IP
- Go to Account Settings > Your IPs.
- Under Allow IP, enter the public source IPv4 address in IP.
- Select Add.
Configure your SIP platform
- Set the trunk destination to
sip.cloudnumbering.com. - Set the caller ID to a cloudnumbering number on the same account as the allowed source IP.
- Send the destination as an E.164 number, with or without the leading
+. - Place a test call.
What happens next
cloudnumbering identifies the account from the source IP and checks that the account owns the caller-ID number before routing the call.
Troubleshooting
cloudnumbering rejects every call from my PBX
Calls from a source address that is not on your allowlist are rejected with SIP response 418. If your PBX logs show 418 on every call, open Account Settings > Your IPs and confirm that it contains the public IPv4 address cloudnumbering sees, not a private address from your local network. If your outbound NAT address changed, add the new address.
Calls fail only with one caller ID
Confirm that the caller-ID number appears in the same account's Number Management > Number Inventory and is in service.
My PBX cannot resolve the trunk destination
Use the hostname sip.cloudnumbering.com. Do not save a numeric address returned by DNS as the permanent trunk destination.
