The Cloudnumbering Inbound SIP service allows you to receive voice traffic to your SIP platform or switch. The service requires some configuration for setting up to receive inbound voice calls. Below is the configuration required to enable this configuration.
The service is aimed primarily at wholesale interconnects and it is not advised to set up end users to interconnect directly with the Cloudnumbering service. A switch or PBX may be required to service the interconnect best.
Inbound Endpoint
For each of your numbers an endpoint is configured to route the calls for that number toward. Please refer to article for configuring endpoints to ensure it is properly set up.
Number Formatting
Within the endpoint configuration it is possible to set the format of the number by using a replacement parameter in the URI.
| Format Variable | Description |
| %e164 | E.164 Format |
| %national | National Format |
| %raw | No formatting |
For example, a call destined for +447700912345 using the following URI:
sip:%e164@example.com
Will be expanded to:
sip:+447700912345@example.com
Codecs and DTMF
Voice codecs supported:
G711ALAW
G711ULAW
DTMF support:
Out of band (RFC2833).
IP and Firewall Configuration
Cloudnumbering present the voice service from behind an FQDN. Robust firewalls will allow for configuration of the FQDN within the firewall directly and it will resolve the name when required. Other firewalls will not allow for this.
